  • Uncover prehistoric mysteries and ask your burning dino questions with renowned paleontologist and star of the “T.REX” film, Dr. Tyler Lyson!
  • Witness the first-ever “Dino Fight Night,” moderated by award-winning author/illustrator Ted Rechlin. Join special guests Dr. Tyler Lyson  and Dr. Nathan Smith in an enthralling discussion that pits your favorite dinosaurs against each other in theoretical battles. Who will emerge victorious? 
  • Munch on some dino-mite delights at our Tech Cafe.

Catch a screening of our new IMAX film “T.REX” all weekend long!

About “T.REX:” is the true story of the young fossil hunters in North Dakota who, while out on a walk, made the discovery of a lifetime! They spotted a large fossilized leg bone that turned out to be that of an extremely rare juvenile T.Rex. The film is narrated by Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill and explores the newest science that has helped reinvent our understanding of the iconic predator.

Pop into New Venture Hall for a special screening of “The Land Before Time”! Enjoy a snack or lunch while you watch, or try your hand at building your own dinosaur skeleton! *This will NOT take place in the IMAX Dome Theater. (Run time is 1 hr, 9 mins)

Just like in the film, come create a device that could help paleontologists transport dinosaur bones from a dig site! Explore balance, weight, and friction and put your device to the test on our zipline in this fun dino-themed hands-on activity.

D(IY)no Art: Dino Egg Bath Bomb Lab

Make your very own dino egg bath bombs! $7 for non-members, $5 for members! This lab will take place upstairs in our South Science Lab and run for about 1 hour.  

*Note: It takes another 1 hour for Dino Eggs to dry and be ready to take home.

Ever wondered about the secrets dinosaurs left behind? Dig into the fascinating world of paleontology with the acclaimed star of “T.REX,” Dr. Tyler Lyson!

Dr. Lyson is a vertebrate paleontologist who studies the extinction of the dinosaurs and helped the three young boys in the film understand and dig up their incredible discovery: a teenage T.Rex! He has spent his career conducting throughout the American West and has active field sites in North Dakota, Montana and Colorado. Tyler was born in North Dakota and has been doing paleontology fieldwork since he was in middle school.

Join paleontologists Dr. Tyler Lyson and Dr. Nathan Smith who will throw down the secrets of these top predators and share stories of their ultimate expeditions of discovery.

This special screening of “T.REX” and dino throwdown will be moderated by graphic novelist Ted Rechlin and Annie Rechlin.

Attendees can also pick up a copy of Ted’s graphic novel that brings the G.O.A.T. — the Greatest Of All Tyrants — to the page, expanding on the story, science, and action of the “T.REX” film.

Tickets are $10 for members, $25 for non-members.
