Tech or Treat is back!

Join us if you dare for a day of spooky science at The Tech Interactive. Tech or Treat is designed for the whole family to enjoy together. We welcome mad scientists of all ages to experience the wonders of STEAM along with the excitement of Halloween! Come curious and in costume. 👻

What is Tech or Treat? This annual event hosted at The Tech Interactive combines the excitement of trick-or-treating and hands-on science activities, creating a one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration!

  • 🧪Mad scientist lab demonstrations
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Safe, family-friendly fun. This is an excellent first trick-or-treat experience for tiny explorers.
  • NEW! Halloween-themed laser show in our IMAX Dome.**

Trick-or-Treat Stations

Make the museum part of your trick-or-treating rounds this year, and shake some sweet treats or spooky treasures* from our Educators throughout the museum. Costumes welcome; curiosity required.

*Both candy and non-food options will be available. All candy will be nut free.

  • Spooky Solar Critters Workshop

    Oct. 11, 12, 25, 26 at 3 p.m.

    Creepy Crawlies, Haunted Bugs, and Solar-Powered Scares - summoning spooky science at The Tech Interactive!

    Join us if you dare for a frightfully fun outdoor experience where science meets the supernatural! Get hands-on with eerie electronics as you design and build your own solar-powered spooky critter.

  • Spooky Candy House Engineering Workshops

    Oct. 25 at 12 p.m. & Nov. 1-2 at 3 p.m.

    Beware: Dare to Build... to see if your Sweet Structure can Survive the Shakes!

    Enter our Spooky Scientist Lab and put your eerie engineering skills to the test! Craft a spooky, haunted candy house using chillingly sweet materials.

  • Cardboard Haunted House Engineering

    Engineer an eerie room for our community haunted mansion. Experiment with cardboard linkages that make doors rattle and bats flap.

  • Mad Scientist Lab Demos

    Learn the science behind special Halloween effects using dry ice, glow-in-the-dark materials, and more.

  • Halloween Laser Show

    Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. and Oct. 26 at 4:30 p.m.

    Top your day off with a spooktacular experience like no other! Laser Halloween is a mesmerizing laser light show that will cast a spell on you. Immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of eerie colors and patterns as our state-of-the-art lasers dance across the darkness.
